Police grant 3 day head-start to fugitives

In a surprising move, the Bangladeshi Police have decided to grant newly minted fugitives a three day head start in any attempt aimed at evading the cops. This decision comes after the cops failed to not arrest criminals despite dilly-dallying on taking action in a recent high-profile case.

"We did not even accept the case initially and only wrote it down as a complaint. We figured that by wasting time, the criminals would offer us a bigger challenge and at least have the courtesy to hide in a good location," The SI of Borolok Elakar Thana, Harsha Singh, said. "But the problem with rich boys is that without daddy, they can't even buy toilet tissue. Even after waiting 48 hours, guess where they went? They go to their uncle's house. To hide. Their uncle's house! We may be really incompetent but why would we not look there? If daddy left you more brains than pocket change, this could have been avoided," Harsha Singh added.

The new measure will now allow any criminal, with a net-worth of at least 1 million taka or with ruling-party affiliation, to be allowed to run for three days without fear of capture. Within those three days, the criminal will be expected to abscond in such a manner so that he or she (most likely he) will be hard to find. This will help the police hone their investigative skills and help with tracking criminals and in missing person cases.

When asked if this will apply to criminals already caught, SI Harsha Singh said that the rule will not be retrospective. "It's ok though. Now, with this recent case, we have decided to pursue other very irrelevant leads. For instance, we are now investigating whether particular hotels actually carry alcohol because we are pretending to be surprised at this and have also involved the Customs in looking at other aspects of the rich boy's father,".

SI Harsha Singh explained that solving cases has become so easy these days that these new and innovative ways are needed to keep the local police force on their toes and at their best. "We remember that after the harassment allegations in TSC, some smart alee actually compiled CCTV footage images of the perpetrators. Now, we had the evidence to arrest those who allegedly conducted the harassment but to make it interesting we arrested the individual compiling all the evidence," Harsha remembered with a smirk. "Don't do our job. Especially, don't do it better than us. We hate it. We need a challenge to grow. Our criminals are stupid. So how can we evolve into an Elite force that doesn't repeatedly and unfortunately fall into cross fire situations without doing all these things?," the SI

added.

The new law goes into motion from the very next week.
