Bangabandhu-1 satellite, one of the most expensive projects of the Awami League government, has become a financial black hole. The loss to the government may be more than Tk 1,500 crore. The life of the satellite is 15 years – that is, it will not exist after 2033, so the time to recover the cost of the project is also ending.
