Dhaka Capitals on Sunday announced that experienced Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera will lead the side in the Bangladesh Premier League T20, scheduled to start on December 30.

Following today's pre-match practice session, the Dhaka Capitals team management officially named their captain. 

"The announcement was formalised when Dhaka Capitals CEO Atik Fahad handed over the captain's cap to Perera," Dhaka Capitals said in a press release.

"The franchise is optimistic that the team will achieve its desired success in the 11th edition of the BPL under Perera's leadership," it added.

Dhaka will take on Rangpur Riders in the second match of the opening day in Mirpur at 6:30pm tomorrow.
