Bangladesh women's kabaddi team bounced back to keep the five-match Test series alive against Nepal with a 26-23 points victory at the Satdobato Taekwondo Hall in Lalitpur, Nepal on Tuesday.

Having suffered a 41-18 points defeat in the opening match a day after reaching Nepal, the women in red and green put up a much better show in a 29-22 points defeat in the second match on Monday.

These matches come thick and fast, hence there is not much opportunity to rest and regroup. However, Bangladesh showed much improved performance when playing their third match in three days, with captain Srabani Mallick literally leading from the front.

Although Bangladesh conceded a 15-10 points lead at the end of the first half, they were brilliant after the break, snatching 16 points while giving away only eight to the hosts.

"Nepal are a much better side. We had lost against them in 2019 and 2023 too. So we believe this victory is a big thing for us," Srabani, adjudged the player of the match, said in a video message after the match.

"We were a little nervous in the earlier games, but we are improving with every match. We will try to do even better in the next matches. These matches will stand us in a good stead in the upcoming World Cup," the Bangladesh captain added.
