The trophy and jersey of the DNCC Mayor Cup was unveiled in a colourful programme at the Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka on Saturday evening.

The programme was attended as chief guest by Salman F Rahman, Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister while Zahid Ahsan Russel, State Minister for Youth and Sports, was present as special guest.

Among others, Bangladesh cricket team's ODI captain Tamim Iqbal and former captain Khaled Mashud were present. The programme was presided over by DNCC mayor Atiqul Islam.

The DNCC Mayor Cup, slated to begin on November 23, will feature 54 teams under 54 wards and 18 teams under reserved women councillors. Football, cricket and volleyball – these three events will be played in the DNCC Mayor Cup, which is sponsored by Saif PowerTec.
