Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo-owned Pestana CR7 Hotel in Marrakesh, Morocco, avoided catastrophe recently when a fire broke out at the establishment but was quickly contained by the emergency services.

According to local media, the fire broke out in an empty room at the hotel on Saturday. However, thanks to the rapid response of civil protection teams, the fire was brought under control very quickly.

No injuries were reported as all guests and employees were quickly escorted out of the establishment.

As per Moroccan media FES News, an investigation has been launched to determine the reason behind the fire. According to initial findings, the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit.

This hotel is part of Ronaldo's line of luxury hotels, in partnership with Pestana Hotel Group. He owns similar establishments in Lisbon, Madeira, Madrid and New York. The hotel in Marrakesh was opened in 2022.
