BFF closing in on Cuba Mitchell for June fixture

After securing the services of Sheffield United midfielder Hamza Choudhury and making progress regarding the introduction of Canada-based Shamit Shome to the national team, Bangladesh Football Federation is moving torwards confirming another high-profile midfielder – Cuba Raul Mitchell.
BFF's senior vice-president Imrul Hassan confirmed to The Daily Star that they have contacted with the Sunderland FC under-21 player, who has shown a positive attitude.
"We spoke with Cuba yesterday (Saturday) and he has shown a positive attitude to our approach," Imrul told The Daily Star.
"We expect a definitive response from him within a day or two. If he says yes, we can hope to have him for the June fixture (against Singapore)," said BFF's SVP, adding that the process regarding Cuba playing for Bangladesh should not be too complicated since the midfielder has not played a match for any national team.

Born in England in 2005 to a mother originally from Bangladesh and a Jamaican father, Cuba has the option of playing for either England or Bangladesh or Jamaica, who have courted him for a couple of years.
But a tweet on Friday night by Pete O'Rourke, a senior football journalist in the UK claiming that Cuba has already pledged his allegiance to Bangladesh, following a social media post shared by Cuba's agents, Dominance Sports Group, only intensified speculation regarding Cuba's imminent announcement.
