Barishal Football Academy clinched the trophy of the Bashundhara Group Pioneer (U-15) Football League 2021-2022 after edging past Zara Green Voice Kishor Bangla Club in the title decider at the Kings Arena in Dhaka on Friday.

In a high-scoring encounter which resulted in a 3-2 scoreline at half time, goals were on display right from the onset of the match as Kishor Bangla's Akash Islam, the player-of-the-final, struck in the very first minute.

Following interval, Barishal Academy levelled the margin with their third equaliser of the match to eventually take the game to shootout with scores at 3-3. Afterwards, the southerners held their nerves to win the tiebreakers by 4-3.

Raihan Mia of Barishal Academy was named as the player-of-the-tournament while the tournament's top-scorer Mehdi Hasan Minar of Skylark Football Club -- who received the Fair Play trophy -- each bagged BDT 50,000.

The champions were awarded BDT three lacs, a lac more than the runners-up.
