Umpire Gazi Sohel falls ill at BKSP

A few days ago, Tamim Iqbal fell ill before the start of a match at BKSP. The former Bangladesh captain, who was leading Mohammedan, was rushed to the hospital, and his life was saved through quick medical intervention following a heart attack.

At the same venue, ICC international umpire Gazi Sohel fell ill today before the start of a Dhaka Premier League match between Mohammedan and Agrani Bank. However, his condition was not as serious as Tamim's.

Match referee Debabrata Paul told The Daily Star that Sohel had complained of headache, and was unable to stand as a field umpire. He was taken to BKSP's medical centre for treatment. Fourth umpire Saifuddin Ahmed was given the responsibility to take over his role.
