Tigers all out for 253 against WI Select XI in warm-up game

Bangladesh were all out for 253 runs in 73.2 overs against West Indies Select XI on the first day of the two-day warm-up game at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua yesterday.
Hasan Murad provided early breakthrough for Tigers by removing home skipper Kraigg Brathwaite for naught as West Indies XI finished the day on 5-1.
Bangladesh top-order did not quite manage the sure footing in the preparation match before the first Test on November 22.
Although the wicket in Coolridge did not have much pace, the extra bounce tested Bangladesh as opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy departed after making 8 off 19, pushing at an angled length delivery outside the off stump from pacer Shaaron Lewis and finding the slip fielder in the sixth over.
Zakir was looking solid till he drove at a full-length Jair Mcallister delivery and was caught at slip after making 15 off 34.
Former captain Mominul Haque and Shahadat Hossain Dipu took Bangladesh through to the 14th over before rain interrupted proceedings. After over rain halted proceedings for over an hour, Dipu and Mominul upped the scoring rate during their 47-run stand. Dipu managed 25 before a Justin Greaves delivery found its mark, going through the defences and castling the right-hander.
Mominul was looking increasingly comfortable. Adjusting to the slower bounce on the wicket, he had pulled Nathan Edwards in the 26th over for four but the bowler tested him with another bouncer in the same over and this time Mominul failed to get on top of the ball as it went through to the wicket-keeper. Mominul departed for 31 off 58.
Liton Das crafted his innings with four fours and a six to move to 31 off 55 before retired to give other batters a chance to get a feel of the conditions.
Jaker Ali scored 48 before retired hurt while Mahidul Islam Ankon added 41 before retired hurt.
