Rangpur Riders, a Bangladesh Premier League franchise, kept their hopes of making it into the Global Super League (GSL) final alive with a 15-run win over Guyana Amazon Warriors at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Wednesday.

Thanks to a 61-run sixth-wicket stand between skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan and Pakistan's Khushdil Shah, Rangpur were able to recover from the depths of five for 27 to post 117 all out in 20 overs.

Khushdil scored a team-high 47-ball 58 while Sohan made 15 off 26 deliveries in a game which was a must-win for Rangpur in order to keep their hopes for the final alive.

For Guyana, Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib scalped two wickets, including the prized scalp of Khushdil, while Dwaine Pretorius stood out with figures of three for 15 in four overs.

In reply, Guyana were bundled out for 102 runs in 19.1 overs, with Shai Hope scoring a team-high 35 off 44 deliveries for the home side.

Pacer Kamrul Islam shone for Rangpur, taking four wickets for 13 runs in his 3.1 overs.

Rangpur were forced into a corner after suffering losses against England's Hampshire and Australia's Victoria in their first two matches. Rangpur, who are fourth in the five-team table with one win in three matches, will need to win against Pakistan's Lahore Qalandars in the final league stage game tomorrow and hope for other results to go their way as all five teams are still in the running for sealing a spot in the final, scheduled to be held on Saturday at the same venue.
