No Liton in Gulshan's dugout against Mohammedan

On Sunday, news had surfaced that Bangladesh star Liton Das had finally found a team after not reaching any negotiations during the players' transfer window last month. Former national team player Tamim Iqbal had informed that Liton had signed for Gulshan Cricket Club. However, Liton was absent from his side's DPL opener against Mohammedan at BKSP Ground 3 on Monday.
LIton and Mustafizur Rahman had been the only national team player who had not found a DPL side during the two-day transfer window although Liton had taken a token for transfer, initiating a move to a different club after negotiations with his previous club Abahani fell through.
Gulshan's team sheet today showed Zawad Abrar and Azizul Hakim alongside other top-order batters but Liton's name was not there among the 15 players. However the club appears to have resolved the confusion. Sources from the Gulshan club informed that Liton's papers have not yet reached CCDM and therefore he has not yet registered for the team officially. When Liton's papers come through to CCDM offices, he will be available to play.
Despite Liton's absence, Gulshan were able to put up 298 for eight against Tamim -led Mohammedan. Opener Zawad hit 75 while Iftekhar Hossain Ifti struck a 110-ball 108 for the newly-promoted side.
Mohammedan were in a bit of trouble at 108 for four. Mushfiqur Rahim was the latest wicket to fall, castled by Ifti. Earlier, skipper Tamim had departed for a run-a-ball 22 in chase of Gulshan's 298.
