Liton 'will try' for big scores while Sohan rejects claims of lean patch

Comilla Victorians will take on Rangpur Riders in the first qualifier tomorrow and both sides would be eying the win to get direct entry into the BPL final. Comilla skipper Liton Das, captaining the franchise for the first time in a season, said that both teams are equal in strength.
Comilla held practice session at the Academy Ground in Mirpur today afternoon and Liton briefed the press before the game on Monday.
"We have already played two games against them and the results were even with them winning one while we won one as well. So both teams are equal and both are big sides. We aren't thinking of them and if we can play our best cricket then the result will be in our favour," Liton said while talking to reporters on tomorrow's game.
Rangpur won the first fixture between the two sides this BPL by 8 runs but Comilla bounced back with a six-wicket win in the last match between the top two sides on February 20 at Chattogram.
"Both are big teams and no one is lesser than the other," he added.
A big concern for Comilla is Mustafizur Rahman's availability for the remaining BPL fixtures. Asked regarding Mustafizur's update, Liton said: "He will come to the ground tomorrow. The physio will maybe take tests and then let's see."
Liton said that his BPL did not go too badly and if things go his way, he would like to notch 400 runs in the tournament. Liton has so far scored 292 runs and there are signs he maybe hitting his gear after hitting a career-best T20 knock of 85 in a game against Sylhet Sixers during the league phase.
Asked if he would like to make a big score in tomorrow's game, Liton said: "I will try. If you have too much expectations, it can bring pressure. It's a big match. I will go and try to enjoy myself and if it's my day and try to capitalise."
Meanwhile, Rangpur Riders captain Nurul Hasan Sohan hit out at suggestion that he has been out of form after his side's session at Bashundhara Sports Complex.
Asked regarding his efforts, he questioned back. "On off form…are you suggesting that not scoring means I will be scoring runs in 12 out of 12 games? Did you see the contribution I had in five games? Maybe you don't like me or don't understand the game. Had you understood, you would see the stats of the position I bat in, see the stats and the runs I scored and then ask questions," he said.
