Former BCB president Mujibur Rahman passes away

Former Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Mujibur Rahman passed away today, the BCB said in a media release.
"The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expresses deep bereavement at the passing away of former president of the Board Commodore Mujibur Rahman," the media release read.
Mujib served as the cricket board president from September 1981 till January 1983. He breathed his last today in Canada from age related issue.
Current BCB president Nazmul Hassan extended his condolences to the family of Mujibur Rahman.
After Bangladesh's World Cup debacle in South Africa in 2003, the then BCB president Ali Asghar formed a two-member inquiry committee comprising of Commodore (retd) Mujibur Rahman and Syed Shamim Ahsan to unearth the reasons behind the disastrous World Cup campaign.
In the 31-page document the committee was bold in its assertions and rational in its recommendations and gave a clear perspective of what went wrong in South Africa and who were to blame. The country's cricket benefited with implementation of some of the recommendations.
