Abahani Limited women's team returned to winning ways after their defeat to Sheltech Cricket Academy on Saturday with a big-margin 161-run win over Bangladesh Ansar & VDP today in the Dhaka Premier Division Women's Cricket League match at the ULAB Cricket Ground.

The batters laid the foundation for the win. Dilara Doha provided a blistering start at the top of the order with a 35-ball 59, laced with 11 fours and a six. Courtesy of that knock, Abahani reached 71 in 8 overs before Dilara fell to Afrin Mim. The other opener in Farzana Haque Pinky played an altogether different knock, but created the platform for Abahani's 300-plus score with a 130-ball 101, hitting seven fours on the way.

It was Shorna Akter who provided the late thrust in the death overs. The 18-year-old right-hander struck a 48-ball 81 during an unbeaten 127-run fourth-wicket stand with Farzana to take
Abahani to 311 for 3.

In reply, Bangladesh Ansar & VDP were bowled out for 150 with Laboni picking three for 11 while Briste Das bagged two wickets.

Mohammedan Sporting won by nine wickets against Bangladesh Police at BKSP ground three. Skipper Salma Khatun led from the front with two wickets while pacer Fariha Trishna and spinner Shanjida Akter Meghla bagged two each as well to skittle Bangladesh Police out for 87 in 44 overs.

In reply, Jasia Akter hit an aggressive 31-ball 50 as Mohammedan cruised to victory in just 10.2 overs.

At BKSP ground four, Gulshan Youth Club won by two wickets against BKSP.

Batting first, BKSP opener Sumaiya Akter struck 66 off 131 deliveries but wickets fell in regular intervals from the other end as BKSP managed 177 for 8.

In chase Juraiya Ferdous hit a 59-ball 53 for Gulshan while small contributions from Afia Asima (30) and Ritu Moni (25) eventually saw them get over the ropes with 4.3 overs to spare.

Sultana Khatun was the architect of Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity's six-wicket win over Kalabagan Krira Chakra at BKSP ground one. In chase of Kalabagan's 218 for 3, Sultana hit an 88-ball 80 before falling to a run out but her innings saw Khelaghar coast to victory in 44.1 overs. Earlier, Kalabagan's Farzana Akter hit 72 at the top and Fatema Tuj Johora played 141 balls for an unbeaten 94 to take Kalabagan to 218 for three.
