Champions Trophy deadlock likely to end: reports

The ICC and the PCB are believed to have reached an agreement till 2027 on the hybrid model which would be adopted whenever India or Pakistan host an ICC tournament, ESPNCricinfo has reported.
However, the PCB are yet to comment on the decision.
The report read that the development emerged on Thursday after meetings between the new ICC chair Jay Shah and PCB chair Mohsin Naqvi on the sidelines of the ICC board meeting.
A board meeting on December 7 is also on the agenda to discuss the Champions Trophy.
The PCB had reportedly demanded that it will accept that the upcoming Champions Trophy to be played under a hybrid model on the grounds that all ICC events be played under hybrid model. The other conditions reportedly are related to commercial compensations as India will be playing their games in a different country.
"This visit provided an invaluable opportunity to connect with my colleagues on the ICC Board where we discussed the initial roadmap and strategies to shape the future of this incredible sport," Shah said, after his visit.
"I was equally delighted to meet with the dedicated ICC team working tirelessly behind the scenes to propel cricket forward," Shah was quoted by ICC media release as saying after his visit.
