Bangladesh invited to take part in Wheelchair Cricket World Cup

Bangladesh wheelchair cricket team has been invited to take part in the inaugural Wheelchair Cricket World Cup 2025, set to take place from September 30 to October 9 in Lahore and Faisalabad in Pakistan.
A total of eight countries – Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, England, Kenya and UAE – are set to take part in the event in Pakistan, according to a press release sent by the Bangladesh wheelchair cricket team today.
"Bangladesh wheelchair cricket team has accepted this prestigious invitation and began preparation to participate in the World Cup. This is a proud moment for Bangladesh and the start of a new chapter in the history of wheelchair cricket," Mohammad Mohsin, captain of the Bangladesh wheelchair team, said in a press release.
"Till now, we don't have any sponsor or financial partner to help us take part in the World Cup. We request the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to support us and help us avail the opportunity to represent the country in the international arena," he added.
Each of the participating teams will send a 21-member contingent for the event with 15 players, five officials and one umpire.
Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Council (PWCC) is organising the event.
