Following Mushfiqur Rahim's announcement that he would auction the bat he used in 2013 to hit Bangladesh' first double century in Tests in order to raise fund for battling coronavirus, plenty others have followed suit. Shakib Al Hasan's bat then went for 20 lakh Taka at an online auction. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Mohammad Ashraful, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das, Taskin Ahmed, Anamul Haque and Mohammad Saifuddin are the latest to join the list of players who are auctioning off their favourite collectibles in order to raise funds.

Mashrafe is going to use the same online platform 'Auction 4 Action' as Shakib to auction a favourite memorabilia, one that has been with him for 16 years.

Ashraful had struck an enormous ton against Australia at Cardiff and the ton had brought Bangladesh their only victory against the Aussies in ODIs to date. "I will be auctioning that bat," he told The Daily Star.

"It's one of my favourite bats and it's a memento from one of Bangladesh cricket's historic day," he added. Ashraful is yet to decide on a platform from where he will auction his bat.

Liton Das and a few others have decided to auction some of their memorable collectibles from the 'Auction 4 Action' page. Liton has decided to auction the bat he used to strike to a mesmerising ton against India in the final of the Asia Cup in 2018 at Dubai.

Soumya had hit a brilliant Test ton against the Kiwis during the Tigers' last tour of New Zealand. The left-hander struck 149 in a surface offering great pace and bounce and the bat he used would also go up for auction to help the needy. Apart from these contributions, Taskin would put up the hat-trick ball from 2017 against Sri Lanka and Anamul would auction the bat he used to hit ton against Pakistan in the 2014 Asia Cup.

Preet Reza, co-founder of 'Auction 4 Action, told The Daily Star that the proceeds from the auction would go to various foundations working towards helping out in the coronavirus crisis. "Basically the one who puts up their collectibles up for auction gets to decide where the proceeds will go. We want to support the foundations like 'Vidyananda' or 'Ek Takar Ahar' which are working for the people," he said.

Jerseys of late footballer Monem Munna and former star Alfaz Ahmed are also being auctioned through the same platform.
