Mehedi fastest and youngest Bangladeshi to 100 Test wickets

All-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz became the fastest and the youngest Bangladeshi player to have scalped 100 Test wickets during Tigers' third day of their second and final Test against the West Indies at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.
Mehedi, aged 23 and playing in his 24th Test, achieved the feat when he induced an edge off Shayne Moseley's bat in the ninth over of the West Indies' second innings today.
Mehedi surpassed Tajiul Islam in terms of being the quickest to the feat. Taijul had achieved the feat in his 25th Test.
23-year-old Mehedi also surpassed Shakib Al Hasan in terms of being the youngest to achieve the feat. Shakib had reached to the landmark of 100 Test wickets at the age of 25 and while playing in his 28th Test.
Mehedi is also the only Bangladeshi off-spinner to get to the mark. Before him it was left-arm spinners Taijul, Shakib and former cricketer Mohammad Rafique, who boasted scalping 100 Test wickets for Bangladesh.
Former spinner Rafique reached to 100 Test wickets in his 33rd Test.
