Mahmudullah included in Test squad for Zim tour

Bangladesh T20I skipper Mahmudullah Riyad has been included in the Test squad for Tigers' upcoming tour of Zimbabwe, informed the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) through a press release today.
"The Bangladesh T20 Captain makes a return to the Test team after 16 months having played his previous match in February 2020 against Pakistan," read the press release.
Mahmudullah was dropped from the Test squad due to his 'poor performance' with head coach Russell Domingo mentioning that the all-rounder would need to perform before being reinstated in the Test squad.
The selectors had already announced squads for all three formats -- Test, T20I and ODI -- for their full series against Zimbabwe next month with Mahmudullah leading the T20I squad and featuring in the ODI squad.
The Tigers are scheduled to board a flight on Monday to take part in one Test, three ODIs and three T20Is against Zimbabwe.
The series will commence on July 7 with the lone Test and the first of the three ODIs will be played on July 16 while the T20 series will begin on July 23. All the matches will be held in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe.
