The teams to play in the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20 Cricket League's Super League were decided today with Brothers Union out of contention following their defeat to Prime Bank. The standings of the top six teams may change with one more round of matches left, slated to be played tomorrow. Meanwhile Prime Doleshwar surprised Abahani Limited with some tight bowling.

Abahani Limited succumbed to their third defeat of the tournament as Prime Doleshwar won by – runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today. Having won the toss, Doleshwar were guided by Saif Hassan's 49-ball 58, laced with one four and six sixes. The middle and lower-order failed to contribute strongly as they slumped from 109 for four to managing 132 for 9 in 20 overs. Mehedi Hasan Rana bagged three wickets while Tanzim Sakib grabbed two wickets for Abahani.

The sky blue were caught by surprise as the Doleshwar bowlers dictated terms. Munim Shahriar (8 off 11) and Mohammad Naim (22 off 31) did not find the rhythm of scoring quick runs. Mushfiqur Rahim had been Abahani's saviour in the majority of games but once he departed to a reverse sweep in the 10th over, the chase of 133 appeared to be steeper than expected. Afif Hossain's 15-ball 26 seemed to have brought Abahani back on track but his rash shot against Enamul Haque Jr in the 14th over led to his dismissal and Abahani innings collapsed from there on in. Kamrul Islam Rabbi went on to dismiss Mosaddek Hossain in the 16th overs and he ended with four for just 11 runs as Doleshwar shot up to second in the standings.

Courtesy of the win, Doleshwar went up to second in the standing ahead of the last round of matches. The top six was confirmed based on the number of wins. Brothers Union will have lesser number of wins than Gazi Group and Sheikh Jamal --both on 12 points -- even if they win their last match and equal Gazi and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi's point haul. In case teams are equal on points and number of wins, run-rate would be considered.

Prime Bank, Doleshwar, Abahani, Mohammedan Sporting, Gazi Group and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi all made the Super League.
