A duo, both reigning over their individual industries, the king of Dhallywwod, Shakib Khan and the queen of Tollywood, Srabanti Chatterjee, the top two of both the Bengals have collaborated for the first time in the joint Indo-Bangla film Shikari, a trend which has been adapted by many in the industry. Directed by Zakir Hossain Simanto and Joydeep Mukherjee, the film is due for release this Eid ul Fitr under the banner of Jaaz Multimedia in collaboration with Shakib Khan Films. The shooting for the film took place in two international destinations, Kolkata and London.

The other actors in the film are Shiba Shanu, Rebecca, Shuvroto, Khoraj Mukhopadhyay, Supriyo Dutta. In a recent interview Shakib informed Showbiz, “The story of the film is rather appealing. The fans will see me in an unusual role here. My character is quite different from the ones I frequently play. The film also includes a lot of scenic beauty. Besides the capturing choreography, the songs of the film are rather melodious as well. Among the list of films being released this Eid, Shikari will surely be one of the main attractions.” 

For the first press-meet of the film, Srabonti had visited Bangladesh earlier, where she discussed some details about the film and her experience. If all goes according to plan, and the film proves to be a success, then it is very likely that the couple will grace the screens once again in the future.
