Stars: Sidharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan, Alia Bhatt
Strength: Fabulous acting, intense drama
Weakness: Sluggish first half

Rating: 3.5/5
PLOT: The story revolves around a dysfunctional family of two brothers who visit their family and discover that their parents' marriage is on the verge of collapse while the family is undergoing a financial crisis.
REVIEW: In this film, everybody is fighting their own battles with a smile on their face. Amarjeet Kapoor (Rishi Kapoor) the 90 year old, full of life, grandfather, is the underlying bond of the family. He is the grandfather most teens can wish for. While the parents are busy untangling the strings of their marriage, the family's eldest son Rahul Kapoor (Fawad Khan) is burdened with the 'perfect son' tag and younger brother Arjun Kapoor (Sidharth Malhotra) has made peace with being the 'runner up'. This pretentious act of excellence along with the uncertainties come crashing down in a family get together, unleashing the suppressed rage that has brewed over time. As the wife and mother, Ratna Pathak Shah owns her character. With family as her priority, she pursues the best for her children. As a disloyal husband burdened by the financial calamity, Rajat Kapoor (Harsh Kapoor) compliments Shah's role. Rahul Kapoor is the embodiment of what a family expects from their eldest son. His chemistry with every character is rather genuine. Arjun Kapoor is the second-best son. He has a hard time dealing with his own uncertainties. Tia Malik (Alia Bhatt) is ever so refreshing and the girl any one would fall for. And perhaps that adds to the drama.
'Kapoor and Sons' is a film so passionate, that it takes you back to your roots.
