Mizanur Rahman Khan

Mizanur Rahman Khan, joint editor of Prothom Alo, passed away this evening.

He was 53.

Mizanur breathed his last at a private hospital in Dhaka at 6:05 pm.

His younger brother Mashiur Rahman Khan confirmed the news of his death to The Daily Star.

Mizanur Rahman Khan was infected with coronavirus on November 26. 

He was first admitted to a private hospital in Dhaka. Later, he was admitted to Universal Medical College Hospital in Mohakhali on December 10. He was treated in an intensive care unit there.

As his physical condition deteriorated, he was put on life support on Saturday afternoon. 

The duty doctors at the hospital declared him dead at 6:05 pm this evening.
