Narayanganj Mayor Ivy sues city AL leader under Digital Security Act
Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy today filed a case under the Digital Security Act against Khokon Saha, general secretary of the Narayanganj city unit of the ruling Awami League.

Mayor Ivy filed the case with the Cyber Tribunal in Dhaka against Khokhon for allegedly making derogatory comments about her and circulating them on YouTube and Facebook, Shamim Al Mamun, bench assistant of the tribunal, confirmed to The Daily Star.
Prodip Das, admin of YouTube channel "Hindu Lives Matter", was also made an accused in the case.
After a hearing, Judge Mohammad Ash Sams Joglul Hossain of the tribunal took the case into cognizance and recorded the complainant's statements.
The court also instructed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police to investigate the case and submit a report to the court by February 8.
According to the case documents, the YouTube channel of Prodip Das circulated two videos on November 23 and December 1 last year where the accused Khokon Saha made "derogatory comments" about Narayanganj Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy.
The accused circulated fabricated and derogatory comments about her which tarnished her image nationally and internationally, the complainant also said in the case statement.
The complainant on December 21 went to Narayanganj Sadar Police Station to file a case in this connection, but police suggested her to file it with the court, the case statement added.
Comments
