JKMA Aziz, former district governor of Jhenidah and a liberation war organiser, died of old-age complications at his Hamdah residence in Jhenidah yesterday. He was 80.

He was also a former parliamentary member of both the then East Pakistan and Bangladesh national assemblies.

He left behind his wife, three sons and three daughters.

He was buried at Pouro graveyard with state honour.
