Novo Nordisk has become the title sponsor of the Big Bangla Run half marathon set to take place on March 14, to create awareness about physical activity and encourage people to invest time in it, the company said in a statement yesterday.    
This year, about 5,000 runners are expected to participate in the Dhaka International Half Marathon, with a total distance will be 21.1km and will take about three hours to complete, starting from Gulshan Park and concluding on Manik Mia Avenue.
The race course will feature Jatiyo Sangsad Bhaban, Novo Theatre, Dhaka Army Museum and Hatirjheel Development Project.
“A little investment of time daily or weekly towards some kind of physical activities can reduce the risk of diabetes or other non-communicable diseases,” A Rajan Kumar, managing director of Novo Nordisk Pharma, said in the statement.
“Novo Nordisk Dhaka International Half Marathon should inspire many people to engage, motivate and invest time on some kind of physical activities which we believe will help in building in a healthier society tomorrow.”
