Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will play for Melbourne Renegades of the T20 Big Bash League in Australia, the cricketer wrote in his Facebook status today.

“I know I kept you all waiting for this news, but yes it has been confirmed that I will be playing for Melbourne Renegades!” he said in the status.

“I am really excited to join them soon, as you all are also excited for me,” he said in his status updated for his fans.

“It will also be a great preparation for me before the World Cup! Everyone please keep me in your prayers so I can perform my best,” he wished.

Shakib is likely to fly to Australia on January 7 next year.

Last year, he played for Adelaide Strikers in the Australian T20 Big Bash League.
