Food, family and festivities

Noted actor couple Dr. Enamul Haque and Lucky Enam remain on top of it all even after a few decades in TV and theatre. Taking time off from their hectic schedule, the talented artistes talked to The Daily Star about their Eid plans:
How do you usually spend Eid?
Enamul Haque: As there is no shooting that day, I stay at home, entertain guests, including theatre artistes, and generally hang out with them.
Lucky Enam: Eid-ul-Azha is always a very busy day for me as I have to distribute meat and cook delicacies too.
Do you manage to spend the day with your daughters?
Lucky Enam: We are lucky that our two daughters live close by. That makes it easier to enjoy the time with our daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren.
Enamul Haque: I always spend a lot of time with them that day. However, this Eid our elder daughter Hridi was with her in-laws' in Thakurgaon, along with her husband Litu Anam and their children. I missed them.
Are you impressed with your wife's culinary skills?
Enamul Haque: She is definitely a very good cook. I enjoy all her dishes. The proportionate use of ingredients is a key factor in cooking and Lucky does that very well.
Did you join forces to cook on Eid day?
Lucky Enam: No. It's totally my department.
Enamul Haque: I just stand beside her when she is busy cooking. I do indulge myself with beef, although I am advised against it, for health reasons.
Do you watch Eid plays?
Enamul Haque: As I'm very busy with my work all year round, I only watch well-scripted dramas.
Lucky Enam: Since there is no heavy workload that day, I enjoy the special Eid TV programmes.
What is the happiest part of your Eid day?
Enamul Haque: I really very feel happy when I see a smile on the faces of the domestic helps, as we offer them new clothes and an Eid bonus.
