Chief adviser, govt condemn J&K attack

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus yesterday expressed deep condolences over the loss of lives in an attack by gunmen in India's Kashmir.
In a message posted on his official Facebook page, Yunus said, "Excellency, please accept my deepest condolences over the loss of lives resulting from the terrorist attack that took place in Pahalgam, Kashmir."
"We strongly condemn this heinous act. Let me reaffirm Bangladesh's resolute stand against terrorism," he added.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a separate statement, also strongly condemned the attack that claimed the lives of 26 people.
"Bangladesh strongly condemns the terror attack in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India, resulting in the tragic loss of innocent lives," it said.
The Government of Bangladesh extended condolences to the families of the victims, expressing "heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by this mindless act of violence."
"Bangladesh reiterates its unwavering commitment to the global fight against terrorism," the press release added.
