Meta's popular messaging platforms, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, are reportedly down for some users across the globe. The disruptions peaked around 2pm local time, with many users unable to send or receive messages. 

According to Downdetector, a real-time outage monitoring website, reports of service interruptions surged sharply during the early afternoon. Users flooded social media with complaints, highlighting issues such as undelivered texts and connectivity problems on both mobile and desktop versions of the apps.

Meta, the parent company of both platforms, has yet to acknowledge the outage or provide any official statement regarding the cause or the expected time for service restoration.
