On February 3, renowned Dhallywood actress Sadika Parvin Popy's sister, Firoza Parvin, filed a General Diary (GD) at Khulna's Sonadanga Model Police Station, accusing the actress and her husband, Adnan Uddin Kamal, of forcibly seizing family property. Firoza, along with their mother, Moriom Begum, also claimed that when confronted, Popy and her husband issued death threats to them.

However, the actress, who has been away from the limelight and media for quite some time, recently went live on her social media account to explain the entire matter. She stated that she was misrepresented in the media by the false claims of her family.

"For almost three decades, I dedicated myself to the film industry and have earned praise and respect from the audience and my colleagues. After all these years, I now feel that I have failed to win the hearts of my own family. I have come live to express how disheartened I am by the recent incident," said Popy.

The actress, who is no longer active in the industry, described in the lengthy video how she financially supported her family and ensured the financial stability of her parents and siblings. "I have provided them with all the luxuries from the earnings of my hard work, and in the end, they are repaying me in such a way. They have publicly humiliated me, shamed me about my character, and made false allegations against me of acquiring property, when I have kept only a very small portion of my earnings for myself, given them the largest share, and even bought land in their names."

At one point in the live video, Popy became emotional while sharing details about her relationship with her mother. "In this world, there are good mothers and bad mothers. Unfortunately, I was born to a mother who could never love me; She didn't even take care of me properly as a child—at least, as far as I recall. To my family, I was only a money machine. After all this, I have never blamed them for anything, even when my parents deceived me and transferred all of my income to my sister's account," claimed Popy in the video.

Popy further stated that her mother, Moriom Begum, is not mentally stable, and she prays for her mother to gain the sensibility to understand the truth. She hopes that her mother can make fair decisions for all her children without being biased.

"I have never asked anything from my family, my siblings—except for respect. My sister claimed that I had hit her, but her claim was not proven. She held a camera in front of my face, and I simply threw the camera. I have never hit her or any of my siblings; I have only corrected them. Rather, they have physically assaulted me many times and beaten me to take over my money."

She openly challenged the concerned authorities to investigate her siblings' earnings and sources of income. "I have been the main breadwinner of the family for a long time. Now, they may refuse to acknowledge me, but I have no regrets. All I want is for them to leave me alone and let me live in peace. Even a few days ago, my brother, accompanied by another man, arrived intending to assassinate me. I have forgiven them. However, now I just want to remain in peace and live my life without any turbulence."
