4-5 people watching Emon and Mamo’s ‘Agamikal’, confirm hall owners

Mamnun Hasan Emon and Zakia Bari Mamo starrer "Agamikal" failed miserably in the theatres. The movie was released to lack lustre promotion on June 3 and couldn't fare well across the movie theatres. Various cinema halls have confirmed that only 4 or 5 people came to watch the film.
Star Cineplex authorities and several other cinema halls have confirmed the poor outcome of the movie.
Shyamoli Cinema hall's manager, Ahsanullah, felt devastated by the disastrous result of the movie.
"The film isn't running at all and has tanked completely. We were really happy when we saw Eid movies doing fairly across the theatres. We were really hopeful when we brought the movie but unfortunately it couldn't bring any viewers for us since its first day," said Ahsanullah.
Ananda Cinema Hall's manager, Shah Dulal also expressed his disappointment over the film.
"This movie isn't bringing any viewers towards the theatres. Each show only consists of 4 or 5 people in the audience. There has been no interest for this movie since its release," said Shah Dulal.
Star Cineplex also confirmed that they were only able to sell on an average 4 to 6 tickets per show at its three major branches. The movie did not perform well at Bashundhara Shopping Mall, Shimanto Shambhar and Sony Square branches on Sunday.
Star Cineplex authorities told The Daily Star, "We really want Bangladeshi movie to do good business in cineplexes. We were able to sell only 16 to 20 tickets for about 1000 seats in all the branches on Sunday. If this keeps up then how can we salvage the depleting condition of the industry?"
"Agamikal" features Wadud, Faruk Ahmed, and Saberi Alam in pivotal roles. The movie was released in 30 cinema halls across the country on Sunday.
