Questions, duration reduced for this year’s JU admission test

Changes have been brought to the admission test for first year honours students for the academic session of 2020-21 of Jahangirnagar University.
The university authority said they have reduced the duration and numbers of questions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Admission seekers, however, said the sudden changes to the admission test have left them in an uncomfortable situation.
Admission seekers have to answer 60 questions in 45 minutes. The 60 marks will be converted to 80 marks. Twenty marks will be added from the results of Higher Secondary and Secondary examinations.
In the last admission tests, students had to answer 80 questions in 60 minutes.
Md Abu Hasan, member secretary of admission test conducting committee confirmed the development to The Daily Star yesterday.
"The number of questions and the duration was reduced considering the safety of admission seekers and teachers," he added.
Meanwhile, second timers can sit for the admission test of JU.
The admission test of JU will be held in five phases. The test will begin on November 7 and will continue till November 18.
This year, a total of 3,08,606 students will sit for the admission test of JU against 1889 seats and 163 students will vie for each seat.
