Brothers given permission to play BPL

Brothers Union have been given permission to take part in upcoming Bangladesh Premier League starting from Wednesday.
The decision was taken at the Players Status Committee (PSC) of Bangladesh Football Federation on Monday after the BFF executive committee gave their opinion in favour of Brothers Union.
The Gopibagh-based outfit submitted their players' list two days after the deadline of the players' transfer, effectively violating the rules and losing their eligibility to stay in the top-flight football.
However, they had played the just-concluded Federation Cup after the PSC cleared them to play the season's curtain-raiser Federation Cup and the matter was referred to the BFF executive committee, which on Thursday discussed and sent the issue back to the PSC after giving their opinion in favour of Brothers Union.
"Considering Brothers Union's contribution to the country's football, the players status committee decided to allow them to take part in the league. Besides, they have signed the same players who were part of the club last season," said BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem while adding that they would now inform FIFA about their decision regarding Brothers Union as they had not informed FIFA about Brothers' failure to submit their players list within the deadline.
