The recipients of this year's Gemcon Shahitya Puroshkar (Gemcon Literary Award) were announced at a virtual ceremony today. Kazi Anis Ahmed, director of Gemcon Group and publisher of Dhaka Tribune, announced the names of the winners.

This year, writer Mashrur Arefin won the Gemcon Shahitya Puroshkar 2020 for his novel "August Abchhaya."

Hasnain Hira won the Gemcon Young Poetry Award 2020 for "Baak Bachaner Baitha."

In addition, the Gemcon Young Literature Award will be jointly awarded to Jabbar Al Nayeem for "Jiboner Chuti Nei," and Dhrupodi Ripon for his "Shoporko Apon-Por."

The honourable jury board for Gemcon Shahitya Puroshkar 2020 comprised of Dr Begum Akhter Kamal, Wasi Ahmed, Mamun Hussain, Sarifa Salowa Dina, and Ahmad Mustafa Kamal.

The honourable jury board for Gemcon Young Literature Award had writer Parvez Hossain, Anirudh Kahali, Mostofa Tariqul Ahsan, Hamim Kamrul Haque, and Afsana Begum.

The honourable jury board for Gemcon Young Poetry Award included poet Mohammad Sadiq, Asad Mannan, Kabir Humayun, Zafir Setu, and Mostak Ahmed Din.
