Directorate of registration collects Tk 1,264 crore revenue in July, August

Directorate of Registration

The Directorate of Registration has collected Tk 1,264.75 crore revenue through conducting registrations of total 5,36,437 deeds during the coronavirus pandemic in July and August this year.

Inspector general of registration (IGR) Shahidul Alam Jhinuk sent a letter to the law ministry today (Wednesday) to this effect, saying that the sub-registry offices across the country have completed the registrations of 2,64,780 deeds strictly following health guidelines and collected Tk 575.08 crore as revenue in August.

Earlier in July, the sub-registry offices collected Tk 690 crore as revenue through conducting registrations of total 2,71,657 deeds across the country.

IGR Shahidul in the letter said deeds were completed and revenue was collected less in August than those of July due to Eid-ul-Azha holiday, floods and river erosion in many districts of the country in August.

A total of 26 officials and staff members under the Directorate of Registration had been infected with Covid-19 and most of them have recovered from the infection, he said, adding that 79 posts of sub-registrars are now vacant across the country.
