An inspector of police has died with Covid-19 infection at Central Police Hospital in Dhaka early today.

Deceased Suman Ali was the inspector (investigation) of Baraigram Police Station in Natore.

He was admitted on August 2 after he tested positive for coronavirus. He was later put on life support after his condition deteriorated, says a press release issued by Police Headquarters.

With him, at least 67 members of Bangladesh Police died with Covid-19 infection while discharging their duties across the country.

Hailing from Chapainawabganj's Shibganj upazila, Suman joined Bangladesh Police as a sub-inspector in 2008. He left behind his wife and a daughter.

The body was sent to his village home for burial.
