Gems of Nazrul to celebrate the poet of humanity and love

Gems of Nazrul will pay their homage to the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam marking his 121st birth anniversary on May 25. BTV and other channels will air the 12th production of Gems of Nazrul – a prayer song 'Jago Amrito Piyashi Chito', along with a spirited song, 'Tora Shob Joyoddhwani Kor' in the morning of the day. The online videos of both the songs will also be on YouTube.
Sadya Afreen Mallick, renowned Nazrul singer and the founder of Gems of Nazrul said that Nazrul, the poet of humanity and love, has inspired the human race during catastrophes.
"Even in this time of crisis, we, the followers of Nazrul, are coming up with our 12th production to celebrate the poet's birth anniversary. We would like to thank all the frontline fighters, who are serving humanity at the moment. We also appreciate and welcome the bold steps of our Honourable Prime Minister and everyone who is assisting her to overcome the challenges."
Sponsored by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the celebration programme will also include a dance performance by Warha Rihab and her troupe Dhriti Nartanalaya, poetry recitation by Hasan Arif and solo songs by Khairul Anam Shakil, Salahuddin Ahmed and Shaheen Samad. Sadya Afreen Mallick directed the choral songs of the production. Every performance was recorded earlier this year, prior to the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
