Ex-chief justice Mahmudul passes away

Former Chief Justice Mahmudul Amin Choudhury passed away in Dhaka this afternoon due to old age complications. He was 85.
Justice Mahmudul breathed his last at his Dhanmondi residence, Supreme Court Spokesmen Md Saifur Rahman told The Daily Star.
He left two daughters, a son and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death, he said.
His body will be kept at Supreme Court premises tomorrow morning to allow people to pay their last respects to the departed soul.
Later, his namaz-e-janaza will be held there and he will be laid to eternal rest at the graveyard near the Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) shrine.
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain and Attorney General Mahbubey Alam expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Mahmudul and prayed for the salvation of the departed soul.
They also expressed deep sympathy to his bereaved family members.
