A man and his two daughters were crushed to death by a train while they were taking a selfie on the rail tracks in Narsingdi sadar yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Hafiz Miah, 40, of Duttapara village of Lakshmipur Sadar, and Tarin, 13, a class-VIII student, and Tuli, 2.

M Syeduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Narsingdi Sadar Model Police Station, said a Noakhali-bound train hit the three near Puranpara Railway Bridge around 6:45pm when they were taking a selfie standing on the tracks, leaving them dead on the spot.

Hafiz, a businessman, along with his family used to live in a house in Bilasdi area of Narsingdi town, he added.
