JMB woman arrested in M'singh

Remanded for four days

A female member of banned outfit JMB has been arrested in Mymensingh, said Rapid Action Battalion in Narayanganj yesterday.

Feroza Rahman, 42, from Kachijhuli area in Mymensingh Sadar, was arrested by Rab in the area on Friday night, said Rab-11 senior assistant director Billal Hossain.

She is the mother of Rubaiya Binte Noor Uddin who was arrested in the capital's Arambagh on May 16, he said.

Rab also seized a large number of militant books and leaflets from her. Feroza was arrested following the information gleaned from Rubaiya.

Feroza worked in the women section of JMB. She is accused in a case filed for militancy with Narayanganj Bandar Police Station.

A Narayanganj court placed her on a four-day remand when she was produced before it with a 10-day remand prayer, said Rab.
