An international conference titled “Higher Nursing Education: Trends and Challenges” was held at National Institute of Advanced Nursing Education and Research (NIANER) in the capital yesterday.

This was the first international nursing conference in the country, said a press release, held to introduce global trends of nursing education and research.

The programme is a joint venture of NIANER, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Yonsei University College of Nursing in Korea, and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.

Representatives from the health ministry and Directorate General of Nursing and Midwifery, along with distinguished people in the global field of nursing -- including Glasgow Caledonian University Former Professor Barbara Parfitt -- took part in the programme.
