A court here yesterday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife at Kaborbaria village in Mirpur upazila in 2014.

Additional District and Sessions Judge ABM Mahmudul Haq announced the verdict.

The convict is Rubel Malitha, 37, son of Sher Ali Malitha of the village.

The court also fined him Tk 2 lakh and ordered him to give the money to his son, who is being taken care of by Kumkum's father.
