An eight-year-old boy was sodomised allegedly by a teenager at Borbaghpur village in Bagharpara upazila of Jessore on Saturday night.

The victim was admitted to Jessore General Hospital with injuries due to sodomy.

The accused is Miraj Hossain, 17, son of Faruk Hossain of the village.

Victim's mother said Miraj took her second grader son to a nearby garden and sodomised him on Saturday night when the child was returning home after praying in a local mosque near their house. Later, the boy came home crying, she said.

She said her child, who is undergoing treatment at the hospital, is a student of a local pre-cadet school. Miraj threatened the child that he would kill him if the incident is disclosed to anyone, the mother said.

Dr M Abdur Rashid at the emergency ward of the hospital said the child was admitted to the hospital with injuries caused by the violation.

Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr Hedaituzzaman Ditu said he heard about the incident and a doctor has been sent to collect evidence in this regard. Dr Ditu said after the report comes, it would be known whether it is sodomy or not.

Baghparpara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Manjurul Islam said he does not know about such an incident.
