Different socio-cultural and political organisations have chalked out various programmes to observe the Language Martyrs Day.

The day is also observed as International Mother Language Day.

To mark the day, Sammilito Sangskirtik Jote has been holding a series of cultural programmes since February 8, which will end today.

Also, Kendrio Kachi Kachar Mela will hold a discussion and a cultural programme in its auditorium at Segunbagicha in the capital today.

Bangabandhu Gabeshana Parishad will pay tribute to the martyrs at the Central Shaheed Minar in the morning.

The Parishad will also hold a discussion on the Language Movement and Liberation War at its office and will arrange a milad mahfil.

Kidney Awareness Monitoring and Prevention Society will organise a free kidney and eye camp at Shakhipur in Tangail today. They will also hold a discussion there.

Among other organisations, Bhasa Andolan Smrity Rakkhya Parishad, Citizen Environment Development Society and National Citizen Society will pay homage to the martyrs at the Central Shaheed Minar and organise various events.
