Digging of 100-foot wide canals on both sides of Kuril-Purbachal link road began yesterday to resolve the waterlogging problem in the adjacent areas during monsoon.

The canal will help to solve the waterlogging problem at Nikunja, Baridhara, Joarsahara, DOHS, Dhaka Cantonment, Shahjalal International Airport, Kalachandpur, Kuril and Kuratoli areas.

Rajuk is implementing the project involving Tk 5,286.91 crore under the supervision of the Bangladesh Army. The project work is scheduled to be completed by August 2018.
