Singer Hridoy Khan has a huge fan following. Of late he has diversified into acting on TV. In a recent chit chat with The Daily Star, the singer spoke about his new ventures on TV and  the music front. 

How come the sudden appearances in TV plays?

Hridoy Khan: No special reason. People close to me suggested that I act in TV plays but I repeatedly refused.  However, this year I acted in a play with Tisha at the request of TV director Mostofa Kamal Raj. I have also appeared in two more ventures with Tarin and Purnima as my co-artistes.

How was the experience of mainstream acting?

Hridoy Khan: It was truly a wonderful experience. It did not seem that I was working with  unknown artistes. It was just like a big family on the sets as my co-artistes were very cooperative. We had great fun on the sets. As I know Tisha from very early on , I felt very comfortable  working with her.

Do you have plans for regular acting?

Hridoy Khan: I really don't want to do that. It is hard to manage time for music if I'm a professional actor. I took up acting as a hobby.

Tell us about your new album?

Hridoy Khan: I recently started working on “Hridoy Mixed Char” Album. Soon, I will start a talent hunt show. After this, the album will be released.

What about your music videos?

Hridoy Khan: Soon, I will release two music videos on film songs.

Who are your favourite singers?

Hridoy Khan: I listen to music a lot. I have a number of favourite singers at home and abroad. New singers also interest me.

How do spend your leisure time?

Hridoy Khan: The sea is my favourite destination. If I can manage the time, I rush there. Recently, I went to Cox's Bazar.
