Oxfam in Bangladesh yesterday held a national inception workshop on a project "Promoting Sustainable Building in Bangladesh" at a hotel in the capital, according to a press release. 

Oxfam, Housing and Building Research Institute (HBRI), Bangladesh Environmental Lawyers Association (Bela), and Jagorani Chakra Foundation (JCF) are jointly implementing the project in Dhaka and Jessore to ensure sustainable consumption and production of eco-friendly alternative bricks and construction materials.

The three-and-a-half-year development project funded by European Union focuses on the reduction of Greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation and land degradation.
