Five people were killed and 50 others injured in head on collision between two buses at Dhaperhat bazar on Rangpur-Bogra highway this evening.

A bus hit the Rangpur bound coach of Alif Laila Enterprise from the side in Dhaperhat, killing five persons on the spot, reports our local correspondent quoting police.

Police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured from the wreckage of the buses.

A deceased was identified as Arifur Rahman, 35, of Kurigram district, but the rest could not be known immediately.

The injured were rushed to Pirganj Health Complex and Rangpur Medical college Hospital, said Mostafizur Rahman, in-charge of Dhaperhat Police Investigation Center.
